**RYGIEL **_Supports for Community Living _**is currently recruiting for an IT Support Specialist.

**Period: 3 Month Contract**

**Reporting to: Manager of Finance**

**Location: Onsite/Main Office Locations across Hamilton Mountain**

RYGIEL Supports for Community Living serves people who have a developmental disability and multiple handicaps. The services are determined by a person’s individual needs and are designed to enable each person to be a fulfilled participatory member of the community.

**Overall Purpose of the Position**:
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day IT operations including: maintaining, updating user interfaces, networks and software.

This role will be expected to work as a team member within Rygiel Supports for Community Living in a way that continually strengthens the health of the organization and contributes to the vision through effective deployment and maintenance of Information Technology services and programs. All aspects of the job are to be completed consistent with the agency values and beliefs.

Please note that this is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension once the long-term IT needs of the organization are determined.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware on-site, by telephone and online for remote users.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technology issues in a timely manner.
- Create and manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide general computer training for administrative and home support staff as required.
- Become familiar with house locations and IT functions required at each home.
- Deploy workstations, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, local firewalls, encryption systems and all host security systems.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot associated end network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot associated end user software networking products.
- Maintain accurate records of completed and pending IT jobs using a ticketing system (Maintenance Care).
- When required, escalate incidents and/or problems appropriately.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting self-help guidelines for computers, printers, tablets and internet issues.
- Perform day-to-day network maintenance such as ensuring adequate file server space and virus detection.
- Administer the agency website and intranet site.
- Monitor internet usage within the office and home locations.
- Track and maintain inventory of IT equipment including computers, laptops, tablets, cameras, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education & Experience**:

- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT Administration, Information Technology, IT Network Infrastructure, Computer Science, or related field is required.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting issues related to printers, photocopiers and computer software.
- Experience with drafting self-help documentation.
- Experience working in the area of health care or related non-profit sector is an asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.

**Skills & Requirements**:

- Up-to-date knowledge regarding systems hardware, software and security (Windows, Microsoft (365), Exchange are required).
- Strong communication skills and ability to be an effective member of a team.
- Strong organization, problem solving and time management skills, including the ability to properly prioritize assigned tasks.
- Must possess a current driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance and have access to a personal vehicle to be able to travel to work sites throughout the city as required.
- A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check including vulnerable sector is required upon start of employment.
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required.
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.
