Scale Operator

ETL is looking for a motivated Scale Operator with proven experience to join our team. The Scale Operator works under the direction of the Facility Administrator and any assigned Supervisors/Managers and works with other employees within the company to ensure safe work practices and policies, compliances and regulations are adhered. The Scale Operator will be required to perform various tasks at the facility. Main responsibilities will include scale operation and general office administration for site. The Scale Operator will work closely with facility staff to create a positive and safe working environment, be a resource to management and facility staff for health and safety information and promote health and safety programs in the workplace.
- Minimum

Education:
Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
- Diploma/ Certificate in Office Administration preferred
- Experience in the construction industry an asset
- License: Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Language: English
- Typing: minimum 40 wpm
- Proficient use of office-based software including Microsoft Office Suite (upper level excel skills required)
- Desktop publishing experience is an asset
- Solid work history and attendance record
- Ability to promote and enforce company’s PPE and site indoctrination requirements Core Job Duties
- Scale operation (weigh in/out using scale program)
- Enter shipment data into the scale system
- Direct trucks to the appropriate area of the site
- Ensure that drivers adhere to the required safety standards set forth by the company (wearing proper PPE, maintaining required speed limits, etc.)
- Print out scale tickets and hand out the copies to drivers
- Ensure correct data is captured on tickets
- Distribute completed tickets to relevant departments
- Keep the scale shack area clean
- All other duties applicable to scale operation
