**About the Project**
- The project is located in Geraldton, Ontario, 280 kms NE of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Camp accommodations are provided as well as transportation to and from the camp to site. The shift is 14/7, working 10 hrs/day. OT is paid after 8 hrs/day and on Saturdays, Sundays, and Statutory Holidays. A travel allowance is provided.
**Role Purpose**
- This individual is responsible for the site management of the project and all project activities, including the supervision of self-performed and subcontracted construction work, and focuses on managing the execution of the work. They are also responsible for managing, directing, and mentoring foremen and other field personnel.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage and participate in the development of construction strategies, project execution planning, scheduling, and estimating.
- Play an integral role in all stages of the estimating cycle, with ownership of accountability for the estimate and an understanding of the plan created as a result.
- Communicate consistently with subcontractors and staff the expectations and directions regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies and procedures, permits, safety/loss prevention, quality control, and other performance standards.
- Review and approve the submissions and revisions of project drawings with subcontractors and other superintendents.
- Implement the coordination of and adherence to the project safety plan. Review construction drawings and specifications, planning and preparation of execution, inspection, testing, and safe work plans, and pre-empt problem areas.
- Manage team members and conduct performance reviews. With guidance from a senior Superintendent, carry out performance management, disciplinary action, termination, back charges and other required actions.
- Review billable charges for materials and subcontractor requisitions and approve or deny as appropriate.
- Facilitate all Progress and Safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and review and obtain agreement on upcoming work to be accomplished.
- Ensure project closeout is appropriately finalized to settle all quality turnover obligations, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the client.
- Understand the project specifications and general conditions of the contract and confirm that all materials and work comply with the contract and quality specifications.
- Maintain a planning cycle that encompasses 6 months of project execution regarding materials, schedules, and crew.
- Review the project planning, direction, organization, and budgeting of all self-performed and subcontracted construction work.
- Manage the experience of customers to ensure positive relationships are established and maintained, including direct participation in change and conflict management.
- Assist, conduct, and coach worker(s) in Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs).
- Know and comply with client requirements, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and all applicable government laws and regulations.
- Communicate the Project Safety Plan to the project site team including subcontractors.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Electrical Journeyperson ticket
- 5+ years of industrial construction experience and a minimum of 3-8 years in a supervisory capacity role.
- Experience on major projects in the petrochemical oil, gas, mining and power sectors working for an EPCM contractor.
- In-depth and broad understanding of Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation construction and installation.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Bluebeam. Well versed in other MS Word and Outlook.
- Ability to read/understand engineered drawings, specs, details, standards, etc.
- Knowledgeable with construction schedules.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Works well in a group/team setting as well as alone.
- Organized and manages time well. Able to prioritize workflow.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
**Supplemental Skills (assets)**
- Project Controls, Project Management, Estimating, QA/QC experience.
- 3D Modelling software experience (Navisworks, Smart Plant, etc)
