**Title**: Quality Control Inspector

**Reports to**: Quality Manager

The Quality Control Inspector inspects, audits, and tests in-coming, in-process, and finishes good products and materials, tools, hydrostatic testing, or performance testing.

This position is located in Toronto, Ontario, and will mainly focus on paint and packaging inspection.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
**Receiving Inspection**
- Lead incoming inspection for the selected parts at the receiving
- Provide adherence to drawings and disposition of all non-conforming materials
- Inspect and review received/purchased items to confirm that the components received are in accordance with the requirements of the purchase order.
- To validate the quality of purchased raw materials, parts, or components based on set acceptance criteria.
- Visually check for signs of shipping damages and take photo evidence.
- Retrieve all attached documents
- Initiate NCR and follow NCR process to record and report the nonconformity
- Inspect and test First Article Inspections (FAI)parts and drawings

**Shipping Inspection of Finished Goods, Paint, and Packaging**:

- Inspect finished goods and materials for all customers and maintain inspection checklist for OEM customers.
- Work with OEM and Hydronics Departments to create and monitor Quality Inspection Plans for both departments.
- Coordinate changes to the inspection check sheets.
- Inspect skids, part, and pump counts versus order and the final skids that are packaged: If a pallet(s) or piece(s) is missing, prepare notes and coordinate with inventory/ production to locate the missing pallets/pieces or replace them.
- Inspect the packaging based on packaging requirements for the external or internal customer.
- To inspect and verify sealing, strapping, binding, cardboard box, skids, wooden crate, shrinkage wrap, bubble wrap.
- Take pictures of OEM products and upload them as per production order to record.
- To check markings and barcodes:

- Purchaser’s name, Purchase order (PO) number.
- Item number and description.
- Bill of Lading: dimensions, weight, number of box/skids.
- Any appropriate warning labels and icons (e.g., “fragile”, “hazardous materials,” or “this side up,” or “do not stack”).
- To report: wrong barcode, wrong size printing, damaged, discolored, distortion labels, the wrong size and orientation of the barcode.
- Take a picture of the final load in the truck to record the final inspection.

**Role Requirements**:

- College degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Three years experience in Quality Management system.
- Working knowledge of the ISO9001 & ISO14001 requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge & experience with GD& T drawing principles.
- Must possess computer skills & competency; emphasis on spreadsheets, ERP system inputs, and prior use of SPC-type programs.
- Required to be highly proficient in digital photography and photo file management.
- Able and willing to work under limited supervision with a high degree of accuracy.
- Familiarization with Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Must be familiar with and able to use all inspection equipment.
- Must be literate in English.
- Must be able to pass a test to operate a fork truck.
- Able to lift 45lb. unassisted.
- Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures).
- Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis, and provide clear well-thought-out recommendations.
- Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
- Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
- Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.

**Salary**: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
