**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Communications and Public Relations, some of the key responsibilities include:

- Working closely with the Director, Communications and Public Relations, advances LAA’s vision, mission and strategic communications needs.
- Lead the development, execution and evaluation of LAA’s enterprise-wide content and media relations strategy in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Supervise, coach and develop communications team members through regular guidance, feedback and mentoring, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment that supports professional growth and delivers on organizational priorities.
- Provide organization-wide communications services to ensure consistent and effective communications across the organization.
- Develop and implement communications policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure support for organization-wide communication strategies and plans.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and measurement of omnichannel content to increase visibility, credibility, and advocacy.
- Lead the ongoing development and production of content strategy for LAA, ensuring clear, consistent and compelling messaging across all channels (digital, print, internal, external, including the website, intranet and social media).
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to measure content effectiveness and impact.
- Advance digital innovation by implementing systems for media monitoring, analytics and reporting to evaluate results and optimize reach and engagement.
- Develop and implement content plans to promote public awareness and understanding of LAA priorities, initiatives and activities.
- Oversee content management on both the external LAA website and its intranet, The Loop, and any other digital channels associated with LAA.
- Provide leadership, advice and input to business units on the development and implementation of communications plans to ensure consistency with LAA’s overall communications approach.
- Lead and drive strategy to enhance engagement with roster lawyers, justice system partners and external stakeholders through tailored communication and public relations tools.
- Oversee the development of thought leadership pieces, executive speeches and issue-focused content that positions LAA as a trusted voice.
- Manage the development and delivery of an effective media relations strategy to ensure a consistent and positive image of LAA by identifying and advising on paid, earned and owned media opportunities and public events.
- Lead contact and liaison for media inquiries and interactions.
- Serve as the communications lead with media, ensuring issues balance organizational interests with public accountability.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists and influencers.
- Manage and maintain brand identity and editorial standards to ensure consistency, both internally and externally.
- Acts as a trusted advisor on issues management, ensuring consistent, transparent messaging during sensitive negotiations and high-profile matters.
- Build relationships with the Government of Alberta and other key public-sector stakeholders (specifically communications counterparts) to support LAA advocacy.
- Monitor government priorities and policy developments, providing strategic advice on potential impacts and opportunities for LAA.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:

- A degree in communications, business or a related discipline from a recognized institution, or a combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in communications, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity, or a combination of communications and a related discipline.
