(18-month contract) The specialist promotes and sells Graybar Canada automation products and automation services to new and existing customers.

**Automation Controls Specialist**

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Promote and sell Graybar Canada automation products and automation services to new and existing customers.
- Territory covers ______ and the surrounding area.
- Actively seek new customers in the territory that will enable the company to secure profitable business while maintaining and developing new relationships of current customers.
- Prepare estimates and quote pricing, credit terms, warranties and delivery dates.
- Consult with customers on Graybar Automation solutions for their needs.
- Participate in training sessions, trade shows and sales meetings as required.
- Consistently upgrade knowledge of Automation products through supplier training.
- Provide technical support for specific projects to resolve issues.
- Ability to cross competitor products to Graybar Canada offerings.
- Team up with Graybar Account Managers in order to provide detailed automation support to leverage total Graybar solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company sales policy.
- Track opportunities on Graybar Canada’s CRM.
- Conduct automation product training seminars for new and existing customers.
- Strive for continuous growth and improvement.

**Preferred Skills & Experience**:

- Have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (an electrical, automation / robotics background is preferred) with at least three years of relevant sales or industry experience.
- Knowledge of electrical automation products. Schneider Automation would be considered an asset.
- Possess strong understanding of IEC programming languages. Computer programming languages like Python would be an asset.
- A “hunter” mentality when it comes to reaching and surpassing targets.
- Exhibits excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Able to prioritize work and ability to be flexible and work independently.
- Consistently able to meet deadlines competently and in a timely fashion.
- Possesses strong relationship building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
- Practice excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
