Western Canada Fire based in beautiful **Kamloops, B**.**C.** is looking to hire an **Experienced Fire Protection Technician** to add to our team
We are a full-service fire protection company, in our 30th year of business, and offer sales and service of fire and life safety equipment. This includes Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Systems, Kitchen & Off-Road Suppression Systems and Emergency Lighting Units. Our company is located in Kamloops and we provide our technical services in Kamloops and surrounding area including Kelowna, Williams Lake, Princeton, Revelstoke, etc. You will see an amazing amount of the B.C. Interior with most trips being day trips only. You will be working and living in one of the most beautiful parts of BC with the amazing outdoor lifestyle, affordable housing and excellent amenities.
We will be very flexible for the right person. Shift work may be accommodated to facilitate an eventual move to the Kamloops area.
**Responsibilities**:
- Design & Installation of kitchen & off-road suppression systems. Installation includes pipe runs, cabling, testing and troubleshooting, etc.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate inspection, testing and repair of various fire protection services & equipment on-site at customer locations
- Perform annual and semi-annual inspections and testing on existing systems including sprinkler systems, emergency lights, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers adhering to the ASTTBC regulations, BC Fire Code and Municipality guidelines
- Complete and electronically submit all required paperwork daily.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- **Education**: Electrical Contractors license or FSA for knowledgeable Fire Technicians with ASTT Stamps (at a minimum: EX, EL & FA)
- **Experience**: Knowledge of fire suppression systems i.e., Badger Range Guard, Kidde, Amerex, & PyroChem
- Experience in the installation & inspections of Kitchen and Industrial Off-Road suppression systems
- Proven electrical and/or mechanical aptitude & ability is an absolute requirement.
- Willingness to participate in online and onsite training.
- This job requires working knowledge of reading prints, drawings and schematics, operation of machine tools, hand/power tools and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
- Attention to detail essential as working with life safety devices.
- Comfortable working with computer as we are moving to a paperless system.
- Valid Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- **Language**: Fluent in English

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$96,000.00 per year
