The Learning Hive is looking to expand our team of educators to support our growing business to be able to provide more support to Oxford County Students and parents.

The Learning Hive specializes in tutoring services focused on reading, writing, spelling, and math for kindergarten through grade 8.

We are a locally owned and operated tutoring service offering both in person and virtual lessons. Our goal at The Learning Hive is to offer affordable and effective support to every child who wants or needs help.

**Job Requirements**

The Learning Hive is proud to be a locally owned and operated private tutoring company with the mission to support our community, and beyond. We are excited to be adding to our team with a part time tutoring professional that is results driven and excellent with children. In this role you will provide one-on-one educational instruction to elementary students.

Students will require support with reading, writing and/or math. Patience, positivity, empathy, active listening skills and the ability to think quickly while effectively altering plans, as needed, is of the utmost importance.

**Responsibilities**
- Write lesson plans and/or follow previously determined lesson plans
- Identify students' individual learning needs
- Evaluate students' progress and discuss the results

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors Degree (or in progress)
- 2+ years teaching experience (informal experience is acceptable)
- Ability and willingness to learn curriculum, and stay up to date on current learning theories, techniques, and resources including structured literacy
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Creative thinking skills
- Familiarity with structured literacy and the science of reading is an asset
- Highly organized, results driven, a quick learner, and above average patience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Teachers, Almost Teachers, or someone with similar/equivalent experience who is interested in tutoring, group classes with the ability to cover our storefront when needed
- Flexible schedule - Must be available for daytime, weekends, and evenings. *While we try to accommodate every employee’s scheduling needs - we do require general availability for these times to account for our operational requirements.

Schedule and compensation will be discussed during the interview process and will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.

In addition, while homework help is occasionally a part of a tutor’s responsibility, the majority of the time spent with students will be spent teaching a direct, explicit, systematic and sequential lesson to support their learning goals.

Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
