Swish Maintenance Limited is currently looking for a Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Finance team The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under their control. This role is located in our Peterborough, ON branch and reports directly to the A/R Supervisor.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Calling and sending letters to customers re: payment of their accounts
- Checking credit references, establishing credit limits
- Printing of receivables reports
- Updating computer system after contact with customers.
- Provides only informal instruction to co-workers
- Not-responsible for supervision of others
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
- Making arrangements for payment of outstanding and late accounts
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collect data and prepare monthly metrics
- Assist with month end closing
- Other duties as assigned

**Working Conditions**:
Minor exposure to moderately disagreeable conditions - telephones ringing, human noise, equipment noise
- Sits at a desk the majority of the day
- Works in an air-conditioned and heated environment

**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:

- Interpersonal skills required to deal with staff members and customers
- Difficult situations referred to Supervisor
- Problems faced generally have a number of known alternatives
- Some choice of independent action
- Knowledge of accounts receivable
- 1-3 years’ accounts receivable and general accounting experience

**Education**:

- Completion of high school
