**Hours**: 3 hours per week
**Schedule**: Tuesdays, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
**Salary**: $22.00 per hour
**Reports to**: Manager, Family Healthy Living Programs

**Nature and Scope**:
The Generation Health Community Program is a dynamic, free 10-week initiative designed for families with children aged 8 to 12. It aims to support families in making positive lifestyle changes, focusing on healthy eating, active living, and reducing screen time. The program offers both virtual and in-person sessions across British Columbia, providing flexibility and accessibility to participants. Additionally, it includes a self-directed online option, catering to those who prefer an independent approach or have scheduling conflicts with group sessions.
A Program Assistant at the Generation Health Community program plays a vital support role, aiding facilitators in preparing and delivering sessions, participating in team meetings for program development, and understanding the program delivery model. They are also involved in quality assurance, attend training workshops, and uphold site policies related to health, safety, and confidentiality, among other responsibilities.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Assisting the Group Facilitator and Physical Activity Facilitator in all aspects of delivery of the pilot program including session preparation and session delivery
- Participate in regular pilot program delivery team meetings to support the ongoing development and implementation of the pilot program
- Develop a thorough understanding of pilot program delivery model and resources
- Participate in quality assurance procedures
- Attend training workshop for the pilot program
- Maintain a good understanding of and implement local sites' policies including Health and Safety, Child Protection, Data Protection, and Anti-bullying policy
- Maintain client confidentiality according to established policy
- Performing related duties as required
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Working with groups of children and adults with the ability to engage and motivate
- Prior involvement in exercise or exercise sessions is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills and experience working with a variety of cultures and family dynamics preferably in a family place setting
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Ideally trained in Run-Jump-Throw, High Five, YMCA Healthy Child Development, Fundamental Movement Skills and/or behaviour change
- First Aid/CPR certificate considered an asset
