As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dependable and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario, to support our HR operations during this critical phase of expansion.

**Role Overview**:
The HR Generalist will handle a wide range of human resources responsibilities, with a strong focus on ensuring efficient onboarding, managing employee schedules, health plans, payroll, and other HR administrative functions. This role is ideal for a professional who is organized, reliable, and capable of managing day-to-day HR operations while supporting the needs of a growing workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Recruitment and Onboarding**:

- Ensure new hires receive a thorough and efficient onboarding experience, enabling them to quickly integrate into the AutoShack team.

**Employee Relations**:

- Serve as the main point of contact for employee concerns, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
- Promote a workplace culture that values hard work, accountability, and mutual respect.

**Employee Scheduling and Payroll Management**:

- Oversee employee scheduling across departments, ensuring optimal staffing levels and compliance with labor regulations.
- Administer payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all employees.
- Coordinate with department managers to address any scheduling or payroll-related matters.

**Health Plans and Benefits Administration**:

- Manage employee health plans and benefits, ensuring employees are enrolled in the appropriate programs.
- Provide support for employee inquiries regarding benefits and assist during the enrollment process.
- Ensure that health plans and benefits remain competitive and cost-effective.

**HR Policies and Compliance**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that support a growing organization.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across all locations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, supporting both daily operations and long-term planning.

**HR Administration**:

- Oversee HR administrative functions, including HRIS management, record-keeping, and the preparation of HR-related documentation such as employment contracts and disciplinary records.
- Support HR projects and initiatives that align with AutoShack’s expansion goals.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a generalist HR role, with experience in payroll, employee scheduling, and benefits administration being highly desirable.

**Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, essential for managing HR operations during expansion.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in supporting an expanding workforce.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple regions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, crucial for supporting a rapidly growing business.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
