Warehouse Specialist

As a key member of the team, the **Warehouse Specialist** will act as a member of the operations team to ensure the proper shipping, recording, receiving, and warehousing of inbound and outbound shipments in a safe and timely manner. This role is also a key contributor to supporting the production team with material picks and traceability for daily production.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Receiving and Shipping:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities, and inspecting for damages or discrepancies.
- Operate a pallet jack for loading and unloading trucks, utilize forklift for warehouse shelving.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery.
- Prepare and organize shipping documentation, including shipping QA records, packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange pick-ups and deliveries.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system, updating stock levels and locations daily.
- Validate inventory returned from production and put away.
- Conduct and be accountable for accurate cycle counts and physical inventory checks and resolving the reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for production and customer orders.
Warehouse Organization:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Make timely and effective decisions to resolve problems and minimize disruptions to workflow.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Coordinate maintenance and cleaning activities for warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
- Oversee material handling equipment usage to ensure safety and prevent damages.
- Collaborate with the production team to manage material flow and prioritize tasks.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Generate shipping and receiving reports to track inventory movements and monitor shipping performance.
- Maintain proper records of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and adjustments in compliance with SOPs.
- Prepare and submit documentation for customs clearance, as required.
- Liaise with other departments, such as logistics, production, and customer service, to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Comply with food safety protocols and operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in inventory management and warehouse operations.
**Additional Duties (Order Fulfilment)**:
- Provide redundancy to Shipper/Receiver in the assembly and fulfillment of online orders sent in from customers each day.
- 3-5 years experience working independently in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Forklift operation certification and experience required.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and other inventory management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise and motivate others in a team environment.
- A willingness to tackle new projects and challenges.
- A commitment to collaboration and getting the job done together.
- Strong adaptability and change management skills.
