This is a **Temporary Part-Time Server** position with **60 hours bi-weekly.**

Term**: 3 months, or until the incumbent returns, whichever comes first**

**Schedule**:

- **Sun 11:00am-7:00pm**:

- Mon OFF
- Tues OFF
- Wed OFF
- **Thurs 11:00am-7:00pm**:

- **Fri 11:00am-7:00pm**:

- **Sat 11:00am-7:00pm**

Wage Leveling rate of pay **$24.08 per hour** until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:
Reporting to the Dining Room Manager, the **Server** is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
- Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

**What you need to know**:

- **One (1) year experience in dining room service;**:

- **Must have the Serve it Right Certificate or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;**:

- **Must have the Food Safe Certificate or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;**:

- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
