Leverage vRealize Automation with Active Directory to manage virtual workloads
The Consume vRealize Automation for custom placement of workloads in Active Directory service leverages the configuration between VMware vRealize® Automation and Microsoft Active Directory to place VM's that are provisioned into specific locations in a Customer's Active Directory environment.
Specification Parameters Description and Backlog items
Environments Up to one (1) vRealize Automation environments in scope.
Blueprints Up to five (5) vRealize Automation blueprints are configured per environment.
Active Directory Configuration of vRealize Automation to use Active Directory integration to enable machine record creation within Active Directory.
Active Directory environment Target environment. Supported versions of Microsoft Active Directory are 2012-2019.
Integration with Active Directory User requests a virtual machine through a vRealize Automation blueprint. The resulting provisioned machine record is registered in the specified Active Directory organization unit (OU) including the VM name and DNS domain name. The user can destroy a machine through vRealize Automation, which de-registers the related machine record from the specified Active Directory OU. The domain/OU setting exists in the blueprint custom properties.

DNS Integration Integration of vRealize Automation with Microsoft DNS.
Microsoft DNS Integration An A record and a PTR record are created in the DNS domain based on the machine name and the domain supplied by the vRealize Automation custom property during machine provisioning. The DNS host record is removed from the endpoint when the machine is decommissioned.
PowerShell Host Pre-Requisite: A PowerShell Host must be present for communication with MS DNS.
Leverage vRealize Automation with third-party IPAM

The Integrate vRealize Automation with Puppet for Configuration Management service provides integration between VMware vRealize® Automation and Puppet to allow configuration of configuration management functionality.

Environments Up to one (1) vRealize Automation environments in scope.
Blueprints Up to two (2) vRealize Automation blueprints per environment.
Puppet Configuration Management Integration Integration of Puppet for use in providing configuration management functionality. Demonstrate workflow execution for the example case. The Puppet role or module used to demonstrate the workflow, must not contain any external dependencies.
Integrate vRealize Automation with Ansible for Configuration Management
The Integrate vRealize Automation with Ansible for Configuration Management service provides integration between VMware vRealize® Automation and Ansible to allow configuration of configuration management functionality.

Ansible Configuration Management Integration Up to one (1) Installation and configuration of Ansible for use in providing configuration management functionality.
