Microsoft Active Directory Consultant

Our Toronto based client is seeking multiple Windows Active Directory consultants for 1 year contract positions to start in January. The candidate/s would be required to work two days onsite in the downtown Toronto area. Core responsibilities: Create, modify, and manage user accounts, security groups, and permissions to control access to network resources. Implement and enforce security measures, policies, and standards. This includes managing user permissions and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Develop, configure, and deploy Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to standardize security settings and configurations across the network. Diagnose and resolve issues related to Active Directory, authentication, and access control. This can include complex problems escalated to higher-level support. Install and maintain Active Directory domain controllers, manage server patching, and ensure systems are up-to-date. Backup and recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for the Active Directory environment to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity. Improve performance and security. Identify and delete/disable objects using PowerShell, ADUC, or other third-party tools Clean up empty or unlinked Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Monitor system performance and stability, and create reports on incidents and changes. Provide technical support and guidance to users Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Active Directory with other services and applications. Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory architecture. Experience with GPO's, DNS and DHCP Familiarity with Azure AD and ADFS Knowledge of ITIL practices for incident, change, and problem management. Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Services. Strong experience in AD, OU (Organizational Unit) cleanup Active Directory (AD) cleanup including the removal stale and inactive objects, like user and computer accounts Please apply today
