**Position Outline**:
The Home Care Services Department at the Pacific Association of First Nations Women+ offers supportive services for Indigenous families and children. We receive referrals from child and family welfare agencies such as Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Social Services [VACFSS], MFCD, and other regulated bodies. Child protection, defined as the best interest of the child, is the PAFNW’s decree under the direction of the Home Care Services department and upholds the integral focus of family preservation.

The Transport Worker [TW] is responsible for transporting Indigenous children in care between caregivers, to school, appointments, and supported visitations. The TW is responsible for the children's safety, and promoting a positive and safe experience for every child.

The Supported Visitation Worker [SVW] supports and facilitates visits between children in care and their biological family or community members. Duties include meeting the needs of the children, ensuring a positive, safe experience for the parents and child and creating a secure visit environment for the child. All supervisors will produce a written report of their observations of the visit to be handed in by the end of the day.

**Responsibilities**:

- Transport children between caregivers.
- Maintain pick up and drop off schedule at allotted times.
- Communicate with the Home Care Services Team, specifically the Sheduler/Dispatcher and other parties involved.
- Ensure children are supervised while in your care.
- Create written reports after each visit, submitted daily.

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate in any field related to social services.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with children and families.
- First Aid certificate is required.
- Recent criminal record check is required.
- A valid BC driver’s license.
- Access to a reliable vehicle - Insurance policy: Minimum $3 million, 2nd party liability and business class.
- Skills in conflict resolution, child protection, early childhood development and/or social worker background are preferred.
- Ability to remain impartial and non-judgmental at all times.
- Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent observational and documentation skills.
- Clean driving abstract - Minimum 4 years of safe driving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Indigenous cultural heritage is an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 15 - 30 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
