Position Available: Groundsperson/Labourer (Full-Time, Permanent) Location: Calgary, AB **Role Responsibilities**: - Conduct pre-trips on heated and refrigerated containers, following customer instructions and accurately reporting fuel and temperature readings. - Perform inventory checks using specialized software (Oasis). - Complete and document pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets. - Inspect all equipment interchanged by rail at the terminal for damages/defects. - Carefully handle IBCs (inter box connectors) on railcars, including unlocking/locking containers. - Operate service vehicles in tight areas within the terminal. - Undertake physical duties as required, such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing on railcars. - Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. - Perform any additional tasks as required by the role. - Apply, remove, and assist with the identification of Blue Signal and derail track protection. **Qualifications**: - Valid Class 5 Driver's License. - Ability to work on a rotating 2-week, 12-hour shift schedule, (nights) - Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. - Clear communication skills in English, especially over the radio. - Steel toe boots with a minimum 8" rise and no exemptions from PPE requirements of hard hats, high visibility vests, and safety glasses. - Basic computer skills and proficiency with iPads. - Capable of working under mínimal supervision. - Demonstrated safe and efficient workplace practices. - Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. - Attention to detail and ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 pounds - Successful completion of a company-paid pre-employment screening test and background check. **Compensation**: - Comprehensive group benefits provided by the company. - Paid sick days available after one year of employment. - Overtime opportunities. - Room for advancement within the organization. - Paid on-site training. - Company-provided safety gear, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves. - Annual boot allowance.
