Leamington, Canada Amco Farms Inc. Full time

**You will be responsible for a predetermined section of our greenhouse and work with our team to mass produce high and quality vegetables. The role of the Vegetable Grower includes but is not limited to**:

- Manage and lead assistant growers and other internal staff engaged in the growing, care and maintenance of company products;
- Direct employees with guidance, training, leadership, etc. to ensure they are familiar with and aim to achieve all greenhouse goals;
- Schedule crop work for employees with Greenhouse Labour Supervisor;
- Track vacation and absence days of workers;
- Review and assess staff performance and provide feedback on how to improve daily functions;
- Communicate with other growers and departments to ensure production processes are met regarding crop work, harvesting, and facility maintenance;
- Monitor crop work and ensure it has been done accurately and in a timely manner and complies with the company budget;
- Inspect assigned growing areas on a daily basis to understand the status of the crop, possible challenges, and evaluate the greenhouse environment and irrigation strategy;
- Inspect greenhouses on a monthly basis to meet Health and Safety requirements;
- Coordinate with IPM program to ensure timely and effective biological or chemical treatment of pests and disease;
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all team members;
- Attend all required training as required by the company;
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by the VP.

**Requirements**:

- experience preferred, but willing to train if interested in long-term commitment
- Willing to work longer hours
- Responsible for alarms, available weekends..
- Work schedule 48 to 55 hours per week / flexible depending on crop stage.
- Able to work under pressure
- Carry a pesticide license

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
