**MatrixHR** is currently recruiting for a
**Heavy Duty Mechanic** for an exciting client of ours located in
**Richmond BC**. The HD Mechanic repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel-powered heavy construction equipment, forklifts, excavators, and material handlers.

The schedule is
** **Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 4 pm.

**Pay Rate** is 43.05/hr

**Responsibilities**:

- Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machinery.
- Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease downtimes, and streamline work processes.
- Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel-powered vehicles, material handling, heavy construction equipment, and excavators.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhauls, installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering.
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- We are accepting both Journeyperson and 4th-year apprentices.
- Ability to read and write to keep daily records.
- Able to weld, gas, and AC/DC.
- Willingness to work in different sites if required.
- Scrap experience is an asset.
- Valid Driver's License with Clean Driver's Abstract.
- Reliable transportation - the work location does not have close access to public transportation.
