Coordinator of Early Learning

South East Cornerstone Public School Division requires the service of a Coordinator of Early Learning who will report to the Deputy Director of Education. Office location will be determined through consultation with the successful applicant and the Deputy Director of Education.
**Term**:
This is a continuing contract that will commence on August 25, 2025.
**Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor of Education Degree from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Saskatchewan Professional “A” Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience. School level administration would be an asset.
- Master’s Degree in Education from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education is preferred
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and the Ministry of Education initiatives
- Knowledge of best practices in educational leadership
- Knowledge of trends and needs in early learning and child care practices
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
**Required Skills and Abilities**:
- Ability to plan, coordinate and present workshops to educators, support staff and other child care providers.
- Ability to work effectively to establish positive working relationships with a variety of parents, children, volunteers, professionals, and community agencies and partners.
- Ability to write reports requiring meaningful interpretations of data, accuracy, readability and editorial correctness.
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with all staff within the school division.
- Strong communication skills including superb writing, content development skills, strong presentation, oratory and verbal skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Evidence of a high level of organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage and coordinate a number of projects and tasks while effectively managing time.
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Ability to work proactively and in a self-directed manner to foster an atmosphere of trust and respect to promote awareness of early learning issues.
- Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Present a professional attitude and appearance.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Without restricting the generality of this job description, the Coordinator of Early Learning shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to, the following:
- Consult with classroom teachers, administrators and superintendents with regard to supporting the early learning programs and primary elementary classrooms within the division;
- Monitor and support early learning programs to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of such programs
- Coordinate the selection processes and placement of children into the Early Learning and Care program (ECIP) and Prekindergarten.
- Liaise with childcare centers and preschools
- Initiate and maintain contacts with various interagency committees and appropriate human services agencies
- In conjunction with the Deputy Director of Education, develop budget and manage the expenditures, equipment, resources, programming and other items considered necessary.
- Oversee the administration of early learning assessments
- Oversee the Division’s Prekindergarten and primary elementary grades
- Provide the Senior Leadership Team and Saskatchewan Ministry of Education with information related to early learning programs for school grants and budget purposes.
- Identify and provide leadership in planning and/or delivering professional development programs for school-based staff designed to enhance early learning
- Attend meetings as required by the Senior Leadership Team
- Facilitate workgroups, teams, and meetings within a positive environment.
- Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to an educational institution providing services to children
- Be willing to engage in lifelong learning with respect to professional development, training, in-services and courses of study
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Deputy Director of Education
- Be knowledgeable about and supportive of Administrative Procedures and directives
- Represent the Division at Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre (EEYFRC) board meetings and lead the EEYFRC community planning team.
- Represent the Division as accountable partner with the EEYFRC, providing guidance to strategic planning, financial planning, and in providing reports to the Ministry of Education.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated Provincial Collective Bargaining Agreement and Locally Negotiated Teacher Agreement.
