CM2 supports Marketing and Customer Relationship Management activities at General Motors of Canada Ltd. The GM team of CM2 is based at GM’s Canadian headquarters in Oshawa.

**Overview of Position**:
You will support the Translation Manager with the review of the English to French translation services across all GMCC business units, working with the external translation vendors, while completing and quality controlling some of the most important work yourself.

In this role you will coordinate the effective translation or adaptation for all marketing materials, ensuring the delivery of a meaningful, coherent and consistent message to both internal and external stakeholders. GM uses multiple advertising agencies that sometimes use terminology and tone specific to each brand. This role ensures the verbiage is consistent across all marketing channels & outlets.

**Key Activities**:

- Support the French Translation Manager with the English to French translation function across all GMCC marketing business units:
Includes materials intended for customers, employees, dealers, suppliers
Materials may include print, digital, video voice over and more
- Coordinate workflow for the Translation Department by prioritizing requests, negotiating due dates with customers and vendors ensuring jobs are completed on time
- Manage requests and review translations completed by external vendors ensuring quality and accuracy of translations in accordance with Quebec’s French Language Charter and industry standards, as assigned.
- Proofread and edit French on POS material to verify accuracy and compliance with Quebec’s provincial legislation and federal requirements.
- Proactively build partnerships with multiple internal GM stakeholders: understand needs and expectations regarding French translation
- Support the improvement of processes and workflows to manage consistency and efficiency across all stakeholders
- Direct and maintain French language standards and preferred terminology and share with vendors on a regular basis
- Maintain translation memory and share on a regular basis with vendors
- Ensure quality and consistency of French communications (including voice and tone of executive leadership communications)
- Support the Translation manager with the prioritization of translation volume
- In some instances, directly translate/author select communications (e.g. leadership messages, internal broadcast scripts, urgent requests, etc.) as agreed upon and prioritized with supervisor

**Required Experience and Education**:

- University degree in French translation, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time translation experience or relevant experience

**Required Skills and Knowledge**:

- Fully bilingual in French Canadian and English
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Québec/French Canadian customs and culture
- Strong time management and workload prioritization skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently
- Ability to work well with multiple priorities within tight deadlines autonomously with little supervision, process-driven and have strong attention to detail
- Well-developed problem-solving, planning and organizational skills
- Experience in the automotive industry and proofreading of POS material is an asset
