Reporting to the Director of the First Peoples’ Centre and Indigenous Engagement, the Manager of Community Based & Contract Training will be responsible for the development of community-based and contract training initiatives of the First Peoples’ Centre, Programs and Services. Community outreach is critical to this position, and frequent travel to First Nations communities may be required.
The incumbent will be responsible for negotiating agreements for the delivery of training and certificate and diploma programs, coordinating program delivery, and managing community-based projects. In doing so, they will work collaboratively to ensure that the College fulfills its mission of ensuring accessible, quality educational experiences that are culturally relevant and meet the unique needs of Indigenous communities and industry partners.
The Manager will promote and provide training consulting services to the College’s partners, supporting the development, implementation, delivery, evaluation, and follow-up of courses and career programs, brokered services, special projects, proposal writing, sponsored and employer-based training programs, apprenticeship, and pre-apprenticeship opportunities. Through proactive planning, the Manager will market programs and services and continuously identify new training needs, career programs, and apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring they align with the priorities of Indigenous communities, students, organizations, and industries. The Manager will work to foster strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, advancing reconciliation by addressing local and cultural needs in all training initiatives.
The Manager will ensure a positive reputation that is consistent with the College's mission and vision, and its commitment to its 5 Pillars: Student Success, Program and Service Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Connection to Community, and Sustainability.

**Qualifications**:

- The incumbent must have lived experience as an Indigenous, Métis, or Inuit person, bringing valuable cultural insights and perspectives to the role.
- Completion of a three-year or four-year Diploma/Degree, coupled with specialization in business development; master’s degree preferred or equivalent in a related area (e.g., Educational Administration, Adult Education, Business or Public Administration).
- Minimum three (3) years’ of recent leadership experience in a related field, including experience in curriculum development, project management, marketing, public relations, budgeting, and human resources management.
- Extensive experience in Indigenous education/training, including knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogy and experience in partnership development with Indigenous communities.
- Ability to integrate the diversity of Indigenous culture, language, and learning within a post-secondary learning environment, while actively contributing to reconciliation and fostering a culturally inclusive atmosphere.
- Ability to develop and implement multi-year work plans/proposals and budgets.
- Fluent with Office 365 and Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and language skills.
- Previous experience supervising and mentoring a diverse staff within a unionized setting, with a focus on inclusive leadership and fostering a positive, supportive environment.
- Superior research & analytical skills to identify/evaluate new opportunities and issues.
- Awareness and ability to integrate strategies to facilitate a sensitive and cross-cultural work and learning environment.
- In-person, on-campus position. Must be able to reliably commute to North Bay, ON.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous partners, potential partners, and training providers to collaboratively identify training needs, market new and existing products and services, identify and arrange for the services of potential trainers,

- Actively pursue training prospects, respond to CFPs, and establish contracts with government and community agencies, as well as business and industrial clients
- Research, identify, and proactively respond to the diverse training needs of Indigenous communities (urban, First Nation, and rural) considering emerging trends, legislation, and cultural considerations
- Plan courses, programs, and training options according to identified needs
- Establish revenue targets for individual offerings to meet college expectations set by the Director
