The Brake Press Operator is a full-time position where the successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Foreman. The Brake Press Operator assists in the manufacturing of elevator interior components and accessories as well as forming various materials (stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) based on provided specifications using brake press. The operator identifies and resolves problems as they arise in the work process and consults with co-workers where needed as well as completing other general duties as required. **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES** - Forming various materials (stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) based on provided specifications using a brake press - Must always adhere to safe work practices and procedures as well as all other applicable health and safety laws and regulations - Reading CAD drawings and production sheets to ensure products are manufactured accurately and to specifications - Time management skills are essential to ensure that material is ready for scheduled work - Accurate maintenance of production records may be required - Must handle work with finesse and precision - Minimizing waste of materials - Mostly intermediate position - Ability to read drawings with material forming specifications - Ability to use various measuring tools to take measurements and form materials accurately - Capable of setting up brake press for the various materials used - Adapting to multiple workloads and general warehouse responsibilities - General care with product and process material **WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** - Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating a brake press - Capable of setting up brake press for specific materials with CNC components - Can use various measuring tools to take precise measurements of formed materials accurately - Intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools and general manufacturing processes - Understanding of CAD Drawings - Organizational skills are an asset **EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS** - Completion of High school - Good written and verbal communication skills in English. **WORK CONDITIONS** - Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary. - Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed - Works in dusty/noisy environments at times - Operator is responsible for light maintenance of the equipment including cleaning the machine and workstation - Standing and walking, occasional medium to heavy lifting and bending.
