The clinic treats not only addiction problems from a variety of sources, but also comorbid mental health disorders presented by certain individuals.

Since October 2017, Clinique Nouveau Départ has joined EHN Canada; a leading figure in the field of addiction treatment and related mental health issues in Canada.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the authority of the Administration and Operations Team Leader, and in accordance with Clinique Nouveau Depart's mission, objectives and governance policy, the Cook is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared for patients throughout the clinic, and for managing kitchen requirements.
- Prepare meals according to standards (cooking temperatures, etc.).
- Ensure food quality and plate presentation
- Maintain workstation (M.A.P.A.Q. health and safety rules)
- Clean machines and work surfaces using appropriate products
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment at all times
- Ensure that all food and other items are stored correctly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Comply with task lists submitted by department manager
- All other related tasks

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- High school diploma (DES) or equivalent diploma
- DEP in institutional cooking (an asset)
- Experience in a similar role
- Self-motivated, resourceful, good judgment
- Proven experience as a cook (use of cutting tools, stoves, kitchen and cooking utensils)
- Knowledge of different cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Good customer service skills
- Clean and tidy
- Must know how to make the best use of (perishable) foodstuffs
- Must be able to improvise and find alternatives if necessary
- Must have good observation skills (know your inventory)
- Ability to manage stress in situations
- Respect confidentiality
