The Housekeeper is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and miscellaneous duties to ensure that the buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

**Wage Range**
- Grid Level 9 **- **$22.28 - $25.93
- Evening shift premium - additional $3.50 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr
- Weekend shift premium - additional $2.50 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
- Shift premiums compound
- additional $6.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr on 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday

**Position**
- Casual
- evening and weekend work are applicable to this position.

**Qualifications**
- Education and experience_
- WHIMIS preferred but not required
- First Aid preferred but not required
- Recent related experience
- Job skills and abilities_
- Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Good time management and decision making skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Access to reliable transportation

Other Requirements
- Criminal record check in accordance with agency policy
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or exemption required
- Physical Demands_
- This is a physically demanding position. The Housekeeper must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium weight cleaning equipment such sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture. The Housekeeper is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions.
- A physician’s assessment providing confirmation of physical fitness for the job duties may be required including confirmation of tuberculosis testing.
- Environmental Conditions_
- The Housekeeper will be required to work with cleaning products that can be harmful if not properly utilized and will be regularly required to clean up bodily fluids that are unpleasant to deal with.
- This position is required to work in a potentially stressful environment. The Housekeeper may have to deal with residents in crisis situations. The ability to function independently and frequently under pressure while managing emergency situations is an ongoing expectation of this position.
