PAINTER TRADES II

**Job Function**:
Reports to the Maintenance Manager, or designate

Performs a variety of skilled and other tasks related to the trade in the maintenance and upkeep of the school district buildings

Performs interior and exterior painting assignments ranging from minor to major projects

Prepares and mixes paint

Performs wall papering duties

Erects scaffold, swing stage, genie power lifts, ladders, etc.

Performs pressure washing duties

Other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:
Grade 12 graduation

Completion of a recognized painting building trade apprenticeship or BC Tradesperson Certificate

Valid B.C. driver's license

Ability to perform a standard of workmanship at a tradesman's level

Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment of the trade

Skill in the use of tools and equipment of the trade

Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions

Ability to plan and carry out an effective work schedule with a minimum of supervision

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, pupils and the community

**Hours of Work & Salary**:
Temporary position working 40 hours per week, normally 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m., Monday - Friday, at $34.75 per hour
