**PAINTER TRADES II**:
**Job Function**:

- Reports to the Maintenance Manager, or designate
- Performs a variety of skilled and other tasks related to the trade in the maintenance and upkeep of the school district buildings
- Performs interior and exterior painting assignments ranging from minor to major projects
- Prepares and mixes paint
- Performs wall papering duties
- Erects scaffold, swing stage, genie power lifts, ladders, etc.
- Performs pressure washing duties
- Other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 graduation
- Completion of a recognized painting building trade apprenticeship or BC Tradesperson Certificate
- Valid B.C. driver's license
- Ability to perform a standard of workmanship at a tradesman's level
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment of the trade
- Skill in the use of tools and equipment of the trade
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to plan and carry out an effective work schedule with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, pupils and the community

**Hours of Work & Salary**:
Temporary position working 40 hours per week, normally 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m., Monday - Friday, at $34.75 per hour
