**Position Overview**:
Challenger Geomatics has an opening for a land surveying Survey Party Chief based in the Edmonton region. The Survey Party Chief collects data in the field and works with our experienced project managers on a variety of survey assignments. This includes legal and construction surveys, working either on your own as head of the survey crew.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Completes field surveys and works closely with the Project Manager to ensure all client objectives are met.
- Provides necessary documentation to office staff including any field notes, computations, and other survey data.
- Communicates effectively with team members and ensures tasks are completed on time.
- Performs all health and safety duties as identified in the company's safety procedures.
- Skilled with the use of survey equipment (GPS/GNSS Rovers, Total Stations, Locators, etc.) and ensures all company equipment and vehicles are properly operated and maintained.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in Geomatics or related discipline as well as previous survey experience.
- Experience in the energy sector or construction is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Any valid safety certificates an asset (i.e. H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Wildlife Awareness)
- Physical fitness - party chief's work outside in tough conditions, often carrying equipment long distances
