**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Air Quality Compliance and Emissions Control Specialist to join our engineering and regulatory compliance team. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring our generator engines and related equipment meet or exceed EPA standards for emissions, as well as other federal, state, and local air quality requirements. This position demands extensive expertise in air permitting processes, emissions modeling, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of advanced emissions control technologies.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Regulatory Compliance and Permitting**:

- Develop and manage air permitting strategies to comply with EPA New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for stationary engines and non-road engine regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local emissions regulations, including those of the EPA, California Air Resources Board (CARB), and applicable Air Quality Management Districts (AQMD).

**2. Emissions Analysis and Modeling**:

- Conduct emissions calculations using EPA-approved methods such as AP-42 and other tools.
- Perform air dispersion modeling to evaluate pollutant concentrations and their compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
- Develop emissions inventories and analyze potential environmental impacts of proposed projects.

**3. Technology Implementation**:

- Provide technical expertise on the design and integration of emissions control systems, including but not limited to:
i. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.

ii. Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs).

iii. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems.

iv. Advanced catalytic converters.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate emissions reduction technologies during the design and manufacturing phases.

**4. Regulatory Monitoring and Liaison**:

- Monitor updates to EPA, CARB, and local regulations to ensure timely compliance with new requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, addressing questions, inspections, and compliance audits.
- Prepare detailed reports for regulatory agencies, including emissions data, compliance summaries, and operational records.

**5. Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment**:

- Evaluate and mitigate environmental risks associated with emissions from power generation systems.
- Conduct life cycle analyses to assess and improve the sustainability of generator designs.

**6. Training and Internal Support**:

- Provide training to internal teams on air quality regulations, permitting processes, and emissions control technologies.
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation, operational protocols, and best practices.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in air quality compliance, permitting, or emissions control.
- In-depth understanding of EPA standards, including Tier 4 Final regulations, NSPS, and related emissions protocols.
- Familiarity with air quality modeling tools such as AERMOD, CALPUFF, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of fuel regulations, including ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and cleaner alternatives.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to compliance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with regulatory agencies.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline. (Not mandatory)
- Experience working in industries requiring large-scale generator systems or non-road engines.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration with traditional power generation solutions.
- Advanced certifications in environmental compliance or air quality management.
