Neighbourhood Club Program Leader

**Introduction**

Club Program Leaders work with children ages 5-12 to provide a safe, positive and fun place to be after school. Club Program Leaders support club staff in delivering quality programming and being a consistent role model for the children in our programs.

Club Program Leaders shall represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Saskatoon by maintaining a positive and professional attitude while ensuring that all programming adheres to our Mission and Vision Statements, Core Values and Model for Success.

Club Program Leaders report to the on site Club Coordinator and the Director of Children and Youth Programs. The Program Leader provides programming for school aged children in a school setting.

**Position Overview**

Shifts are in the afternoon from 3:00 pm to 6:00. We are looking for people who are available Monday - Friday.

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:
Pleasant Hill School: 1 leader for 5 afternoons per week and 1 leader for Tuesday afternoons.

Confederation Park School: 1 leader for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. **QUALITY ASSURANCE**Program Leaders will provide respectful, inclusive and quality programs by committing to:

- Treat children and youth with respect, acceptance and honesty
- Interact with participants in a patient, interested, understanding and caring manner
- Promote feelings of competency and self-esteem
- Make children and youth feel physically and emotionally safe & secure
- Encourage responsible, safe and mutually-respectful behavior through positive methods such as role-modeling, setting reasonable limits, providing choices and recognizing appropriate behavior
- Guide inappropriate conduct by using positive guidance and behavior management practices
- Work and collaborate with the Club Coordinators and Director of Children and Youth Programs
- Engage children and youth in planning activities that provide opportunities to develop and enhance skills, based on their needs and wants

**Club Program Leaders**:

- Maintain positive and open communications with children, youth, parents, co-workers and school administration
- Recruitment of Members
- Take attendance as children and youth arrive and record what time they leave.
- Meet with the Club Coordinator when requested
- Keep program space, including supply cupboard area clean and tidy
- Ensure that all forms, such as Accident & Incident Report forms are completed correctly and that the parent/guardian and the Club Coordinator are aware of the situation.
- Ensure that the time sheet is completed properly and submitted to the office by the cut-off date in order for payroll to be complete

**Skill Requirements**Qualifications:

- CPR/First Aid Certification
- *additional mandatory training provided by employer upon hiring
