**Department, Unit or Project Description**:
The **Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA)** is a national study of adult development and aging that recruited 50,000 individuals across Canada. Information is collected from participants through telephone interviews, in person interviews, as well as physical assessments, over a 20-year period.

We are currently in Follow-Up 2 of the data collection. Participants provide data every 2.5-3 years. The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) is currently recruiting for In-Home Interviewers for the Comprehensive cohort of the study. The In-Home interviewers will report to the Data Collection Site at McMaster University (McMaster Innovation Park) in Hamilton.

**Job Summary**:
Responsible for conducting in-person and/or telephone interviews with study participants in the community to collect data for an established research project.

**Accountabilities**:

- Explain the research study, following prescribed scripts, to potential participants and obtain informed consent.
- Ensure forms and records have been thoroughly and properly completed.
- Schedule interviews and/or focus groups with participants.
- Conduct structured interviews with study participants using prescribed scripts and form
- Collect data and enter into standard data collection forms.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:Completed or currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program.

**Experience**:6 months of relevant experience.

**Assets**:

- Experience working with laptop computers and computerized survey systems would be an asset.
- Experience working with older adults and aging-related research would be an asset.

**Additional Information**:
**The Field Research Assistant should have the following requirements**:

- Experience conducting survey research or clinical data collection.
- Mature, very well organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and professional.
- Able to work independently.
- Must have a car and a cell phone and be willing to travel to study participants’ homes within 30 km of Hamilton.
- Must be willing to work weekdays, and occasional evenings and weekends.

**The Field Research Assistant will**:

- Be responsible for scheduling and conducting interviews with study participants.
- Assist with other administrative and research duties as required.
- Be required to contact participants by phone to set up In-home visits.
- Be required to obtain participant informed consent and conduct in-home interviews at participants’ homes.
- Be responsible for the administration of the interviews and the Cognition Module tests, which includes tasks related to memory and concentration.
