**About the Role**

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Update the vendor pre-qualification process including updating the pre-qualification packages and evaluation criteria by category in consultation with Procurement Management.
- Manage the procurement pipeline for assigned category and related sourcing initiatives.
- Under the leadership and in close collaboration of the Procurement Manager, the Category Specialist will form and lead sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
- Provide expertise in the preparation of RFx documents, SLAs and contracts for specific Sourcing events as assigned.
- Ensure the integrity, reliability, timeliness and accuracy of financial data, reports and cost analyses pertaining to RFx, approvals and procurement systems.
- Work closely with finance and lines of businesses during annual budgeting process to ensure accurate and timely vendor information.
- Conducts medium to major procurement negotiations involving agreements on terms and conditions as well as prices and schedules
- Follow up, expedites and negotiates changes relative to delivery and supplier performance
- Facilitate and support the contract award process, which will include the drafting of RFx materials, management and issuance of bid process documents, the vendor selection process and support of ongoing vendor management.
- Establish and manage assigned roster of approved suppliers, managing the full acquisition, negotiation and implementation process with the Procurement Manager’s support.
- Oversee the implementation of our strategic sourcing agreements and identifying areas of savings and process improvements through contract consolidation, outsourcing, and other opportunities.
- Manage and consolidate vendor scorecard development and performance reviews with key stakeholders.
- Ensure that vendors are providing reports on applicable programs.

**About You**
- Undergraduate degree or diploma public administration, business administration, finance or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of IT Procurement experience (Direct and Indirect purchases)
- Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPO) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is desirable
- Thorough understanding of purchasing best practices; excellent knowledge of contract law
- Advanced knowledge in preparation of bid documents; leading evaluation teams in review of documents
- Experienced with VAR’s and OEM relationships
- Ability to conduct training sessions and give guidance and direction is desirable
- Strong Computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel)
- Strong Negotiation skills along with excellent writing skills; strong analytical and complex problems solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with external and internal stakeholders.
- Market intelligence and internal spend analytics to determine Procurement strategy
- Solid understanding of vendor relationship management best practices, vendor obligations, and service level agreements defined in all contracts
- Assessing, defining and resolving complex procurement issues, including contract terms & conditions and escalations by internal stakeholders and suppliers. Formulate solutions and consult or advise the Procurement Manager when necessary.
- Knowledge of on-line procurement systems (Workday, preferred), purchasing experience related to IT (Software, Hardware, Cloud)
