**Opportunity**

24-Month Contract, Full-Time

**Responsibilities**
- Timely preparation and issuance of monthly financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (ASPE);
- Prepare manual, recurring, and adjusting journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist in the preparation of audit requirements;
- Oversee workflow of AP staff in freight invoicing processing and freight cost analysis tasks;
- Provide support to the Controller through detailed review of working papers prepared by staff in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Invoicing groups to facilitate accurate accounting of revenues and expenditures for financial reporting and analysis;
- Work closely with the Controller in the development and improvement of operational controls, procedures and efficiencies, and creating or updating documentation of processes and procedures;
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders through ongoing communication and timely resolution of inquiries and issues;
- Ensure data and supporting documentation is organized, accurate, complete and readily accessible in accordance with data retention policies.

**Qualifications and skills**
- Accounting designation (CPA) with supervisory experience in either a public accounting or manufacturing environment;
- Broad knowledge of Canadian accounting and taxation requirements;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail;
- Proficiency with technology (various accounting packages, Excel, and IDEA);
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects;
- Self-motivated and self-directed, with a proactive approach to solving problems.
