**Full Time Evening Residential Support Worker (Contract) **required to join a staff team, assisting an individual with intellectual disabilities in a home environment and in the community. 40 hours per week, shifts will include evenings 3 -11 p.m. and weekends. (With flexibility to work other shifts as required) **Salary**: As per the Collection Agreement, starting at $22.44 per hour plus shift premium $2.35/hr for evenings after 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. and weekends + Vacation pay 4%. This position is eligible for sick benefits **Job Types**: Full-time Contract ( ends on or around April 1, 2025) Essential Skills - Strong oral and written communication skills, team player, problem solving, empathy, planning and organizing, meal preparation, and ability to do tasks to maintain a household and assist adults with personal, recreation and social needs. Enjoy being and working with people who have developmental disabilities. Share the philosophy of being with, not doing for." Have the desire and capacity to support them in ways that will enhance their personal growth, build community supports and develop relationships. Ability to work in a fast paced and active environment. Ability to handle potentially high stress situations with maturity to absorb tension. Can regulate their own emotions and behaviour when supporting individuals in heightened states of anxiety or crisis. Education: Completion of post secondary training in a related field with 1-2 year minimum years experience working with persons with disabilities. Volunteer experience an asset. Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check required. Bargaining unit employees and external applicants will be concurrently assessed. Must be able to provide proof that they are legally able to work in Canada.
