The parents are looking for a nanny to work with them on a live out permanent basis, working Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Saturday hours may be requested from time to time.
They are looking for an experienced nanny to provide excellent childcare for their almost 2-month-old baby and 3 year old toddler. The family lives in the SE of Calgary in the Mahogany area.
The nanny must be able to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the baby and the toddler, including feeding, changing diapers, and arranging age appropriate playtime activities.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
- Preparing healthy meals and feeding the children on time
- Changing diapers and maintaining baby hygiene
- Engaging the baby in age-appropriate playtime and educational activities
- Creating a comfortable and clean sleep environment for the two children
- Maintaining open communication with the parents regarding the children's daily schedule and progress
- Light house work related to baby's needs (e.g. children's laundry)
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a nanny or a caregiver for infants
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to keep a detailed record of baby's activities and development
- Must be dependable and punctual
**Top 3 attributes**:
**Experience working with infants**: The ideal nanny should have experience working with infants, specifically babies under six months old. They should be knowledgeable about the developmental milestones that a baby at this age typically reaches and be equipped to provide appropriate care, like feeding and maintaining hygiene. There is also a 3 year old toddler to care for so an understanding of their needs, milestones and willingness to engage in fun, stimulating and interactive activities both indoor and outdoors is important.
**Patience and nurturing skills**:Caring for a baby can be challenging at times and the ideal nanny should have the compassion, patience, and nurturing skills required to keep the baby calm, comfortable, and happy. They should be attentive to the baby's needs and be able to provide emotional support and comfort when necessary.
**Safety-conscious**: Safety should be a top priority for any nanny. The ideal nanny should be aware of the potential hazards common in a home with an infant and be able to take proactive measures to avoid accidents. They should also have knowledge of infant CPR and first aid in case of an emergency.
**Other attributes that are important to us are**: dependability, punctuality, excellent communication, and organization.
