**How You’ll Help Us Better Serve Our Clients**

You’ll play a vital role in the growth and success of our Library administration. Reporting to the Library Manager, the **Library Technician** is responsible for the circulation and maintenance of library materials, aiding in the use of the library’s collection, descriptive cataloging, client service, and other administrative tasks. This position works closely with lawyers, students, and staff.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience and grow within a collaborative team that is there to support you every step of the way.

**What You’ll Be Doing**

Every day will bring new and exciting opportunities to learn and grow. Below are some of the regular tasks you can expect to work on:

- Shelving, circulating, and maintaining digital and physical library materials including loose leaf maintenance and filing;
- Processing mail daily, claiming missing items, and distributing current awareness;
- Providing legal reference assistance to library users such as assisting with directional help, password maintenance, and basic law and legislative research;
- Training and orientation of new firm staff;
- Cataloguing and processing of new library materials;
- Regular maintenance of internal library databases and library intranet site;
- Receive and process invoices for payment;
- Interlibrary loan processing and maintenance; and
- Assisting with miscellaneous library tasks and ad-hoc projects.

**How You’ll Be a Great Fit For This Role**
- Graduate of a Library Technician Diploma program from a recognized institution;
- A minimum of two years of work experience in a law firm or corporate library setting;
- Previous descriptive cataloging experience considered an asset;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Microsoft 365, RSS Feeds, catalogue, and internet searching;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentially;
- Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with people at all levels;
- Strong customer service orientation;
- Flexible and able to effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks and make judgment decisions;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail; and
- Strong technical skills.
