about the role

Chevron Australia Downstream has an exciting opportunity for a Value Chain Optimization (VCO) Fuels Supply Planner/Scheduler. This role will be responsible for planning and scheduling the clean fuels product supply for Chevron Australia customers. This role will work closely with the Regional Natural Work Team (NWT) to plan import shipments as well as local purchases and sales with 3rd Parties. This role will be based in Chevron’s office in Brisbane.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and scheduling of clean fuels product supply for Chevron Australia’s Retail, C&I and Bulk Sales customers. Together with the support of the AU VCO team must maintain fuel supply reliability while continuously analyzing and optimizing costs with key local and regional stakeholders to drive the best value for the enterprise.- Managing external stakeholder, including acting as the primary focal point for several of Chevron’s bulk customers ensuring both parties are meeting their contractual obligations.- Working closely with Regional VCO, Trading, Shipping, Local Commercial Coordinator, Sales, Pricing and Terminals to match product demands from the sales channels with the most economic source of supply which can include imports and 3rd party sales or purchase negotiations.- Playing a key role in business continuity plan for scenarios where supply reliability is at risk due to unforeseen logistics issues or product quality concerns.- Influencing others to drive towards adding incremental margin and reducing costs for Australia and the Chevron enterprise in the planning and execution phase.- Having an awareness of the financial impacts of the supply plan including inventory build/draw and market commodity and shipping price drivers and support local and regional stakeholders when they are assessing performance vs plan.- Contributing to monthly value chain lookbacks and shares opportunities & learnings with the cross-functional NWT team or key stakeholders. Improve import planning processes from key learnings and influence other groups to drive gaps to closure to add value to the business.- Contributing to continuously improving Australia VCO team organizational capability by implementing internal best practices in tools and work processes.- Using root cause analysis to understand and helping to influence process improvements.

Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, including energy or other commodity supply chains- 8+ years of Downstream or Midstream experience preferred, especially in supply chain optimization, scheduling, shipping, terminal Operations, and/or commercial negotiation.- Able to manage multiple competing priorities.- Strong business acumen and operational analysis skills required.- Skilled in data-driven decisions, analysis of trade-off decisions, and risk-based decision making.- Effective verbal and written communicator and able to quickly build relationships with various stakeholders and teams.- Proven ability to proactively identify issues and quickly involve the right people to address often under tight deadlines.- Proficient in Office products such as MS Excel, PowerPoint- Experience with SAP/TSW is preferred.
