PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated **Team Lead - Distribution (UG/Civil)**to join our engineering team on a full time basis. This hands-on role is a new position within the company to establish a UG/Civil design team to deliver a growing pipeline of work.

This role can be based out of our **Mississauga** office. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Lead a small team of Distribution Engineers/Technologists to deliver projects relating to the design of underground power delivery systems and associated civil works for LV/MV projects by creating detailed scopes and estimates, performing calculations, developing design drawings following applicable utility, national or international standards and codes.
- Perform design duties (with use of Microstation) as required
- Coordination and day-to-day management of team members to ensure quality and timely design submissions
- Work closely with other team leads to coordinate resources and develop design processes
- Communicate and liaise with internal / external contacts as necessary for design details.
- Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data.
- Interface with construction teams to help resolve potential technical and project issues.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practices.
- Coordinate with other business units to verify their project design requirements and delivery schedule.
- Provide design support for permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.)
- Perform peer review checks and seal drawings
- Mentor and train junior team members
- Assist in developing proposals and estimates
- Perform site walkovers to verify design and constructability

**Qualifications**:

- Be PEng accredited
- Experience in distribution civil, electrical engineering, design and construction. Experience on Toronto Hydro assets is preferred.
- Expertise in performing cable pulling calculations (i.e. Pullplanner), electrical calculations (i.e. load demand, voltage drop checks etc.)
- Knowledge of Microstation/AutoCAD and Microsoft office software suite of programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential.
- Desirable skills:

- Experience in streetlight design (knowledge of AGI32 software)
- Experience with Aerial Communications line & poles inspections or design. Using CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems. and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines- Demonstrated knowledge of **Toronto Hydro** Distribution Standards.
