This casual position is for our Langley, Maple Ridge and Aldergrove locations: Derby Reach, Aldergrove and Kanaka Creek Regional Parks (looking for someone available for ALL or minimum two locations).

The is a casual/on-call position for our 2.5-5 year program and elementary program (Kinder-Grade 2). We are a growing outdoor program that inevitably requires coverage. We hired our previous on-call educator on as a permanent staff and are looking to fill the position The hours are anywhere between 8:45-1:15 depending on the program.

Kollektive is a community of rad humans (educators and families alike) and we foster growth and development within the company. We are looking for people who have a passion for the outdoors, child education and building something amazing.

**You are**:
Able to acquire a vulnerable persons criminal record check (charges incurred will be covered by employer after probationary period) and child care first aid certificate

Have a vehicle or access to a vehicle to get yourself to various outdoor program locations (public transportation isn't an option)

Have a flexible schedule and availability to make pre-planned and last minute shift coverage

Enthusiastic and comfortable working outdoors year-round and gear up for inclement weather

Confident with outdoor group management

Confident interacting with children and families

Inclusive and kind - our program celebrates all individuals and creates a safe space for families

Able to manage stress and anxiety when working with groups of children outdoors

Able to encourage/supervise risky play

Adaptable and flexible when it comes to learning and implementing the Kollektive philosophy

Comfortable with receiving feedback and support - we are life-long learners

Able to take initiative in order to extend/follow children’s interests

Curious and willing to play

Able to lift 30 lbs

**You might**:
Have experience working outdoors

Be an Early Childhood Educator/School Age Educator

Have experience implementing children’s programs

Be comfortable with technology/photography

Have random other sweet skills to share

**Responsibilities**:
Support a rad, collaborative outdoor program for children between the ages of 2.5-7 years (year round)

Work within a team of 1-3 co-educators

Engage with families to create a warm, positive and safe environment

Take the Kollektive training/orientation in order to guide children in a Rights based and trauma informed way and implement child inspired/teacher lead experiences

Adhere to all policies laid our in the Kollektive Staff Handbook

Participate in monthly staff meetings (typically virtual)

Record and visually document experiences for children and families

Utilize app which stores child information

Utilize and engage on WhatsApp with your team (compensated)

Arrive promptly at designated start times and communicate all absences

Maintain inclusive and respectful communication with staff, children and families

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 20 per week
