Forklift Driver

Position Summary

Forklift drivers are required to pull orders accurately, scan and prepare orders for prompt shipment. Supply production work centers with required packaging, work in progress (WIP) product and components.
- Material Service Essential Functions
- Use Forklift and hand cart to move, load and unload all finished goods
- Move and scan finished good (FG) parts from Work center to staging location
- Take parts from finished goods inventory to staging area per release
- Generate packing slip and bill of lading to reflect shipping requirements
- Ensure totes, dunnage, racks, and other packaging materials are readily available lineside during scheduled production
- Strap, wrap and/or properly package orders for shipment
- Unload and sort returnable packaging from customers
- Keep assigned Work center organized and free from hazards (5S)
- Report any equipment malfunctions and/or quality problems immediately
- Follow warehouse management system (WMS) (T.E.D) procedures for accepting and completing tasks
- Adhere to Company standards, policies and procedures outlined in the Associate Handbook
- Assembly and Injection Essential functions
- Follow WMS (T.E.D) procedures for accepting and completing tasks
- Ensure all components/WIP/FG are scanned to proper locations when moved for inventory accuracy
- Ensure totes, dunnage, racks, and other packaging is brought lineside during scheduled production runs
- Ensure stack height procedure is followed when stacking bins in storage area and work center
- Keep assigned work center organized and free from hazards (5S).
- Report any equipment malfunctions and/or quality problems immediately
- Adhere to Company standards, policies and procedures outlined in the Associate Handbook
- Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with weekly and monthly finished good inventory cycle counts
- Other duties as may be required.
- Work Environment / Health and Safety
- Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing required to perform the job tasks safely
- Report to their direct report the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective devices of which they are aware, and which may endanger themselves or another worker
- Report to their direct report any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which they know
- Adhere to KCC 5-S program - Clean plant environment
- Minimal exposure to noise
- Fast-paced work environment
- Be aware of all posted warnings and hazards of all surrounding machinery
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 polices and procedures
- No associate shall remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations for workers (the “Green Book”) or by the Company.
- No associates shall use or operate -any equipment, machine, device, or thing or work in a manner that may endanger themselves or any other worker
- No associate shall engage in any prank, contest of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct
- All associates must comply with all Company safety policies and procedures and must adhere to the laws and regulations as stated in the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations for workers.
- Qualifications
- 2 years of experience operating a forklift
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have tow motor experience and license
- Satisfactory work records, including attendance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
