**Company Overview**

Direct Bore is a leading partner in utility network construction, collaborating with major companies such as Bell, Telus, Hydro Ottawa, and the Cities of Ottawa and Toronto. We specialize in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) while also offering civil, hydrovac, aerial structure and splicing services to support infrastructure development.

**Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety programs
- Perform regular site inspections to assess workplace conditions and monitor worker practices for compliance and safety
- Prepare and distribute observation reports to all relevant parties for review and action
- Attend safety meetings and offer guidance on Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and construction regulation compliance

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in health and safety management in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- COR experience considered a big asset
- Excellent communication skills for effective training and reporting.
- Ability to develop training programs tailored to various roles within the company.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and audits.

**Incident Investigation & Prevention**
- Participate in incident and accident investigations; identify root causes and develop preventive solutions
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures
- Review and support implementation of corrective actions for non-compliance in coordination with site management

**Training & Communication**
- Support client onboarding and orientation sessions to ensure understanding of safety policies and procedures
- Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings as needed
- Provide Health and Safety awareness training when required

**Qualifications & Skills**
- 3-5 years of Health and Safety experience within the construction industry
- Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (considered an asset)
- NSCO Certification (considered an asset)
- Strong knowledge of OHSA and construction safety regulations
- Ability to travel between Ottawa and GTA as needed
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Valid Class G Driver’s License

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,224.36-$85,306.63 per year
