Construction Aggregate Tester and Scale Person, Construction Laborer

Maskunow Construction is a well-established civil construction company currently hiring **construction personnel** for an active project based out of **15 Wing CFB Moose Jaw** and an aggregate source near Moose Jaw. We are looking for motivated and safety-focused individuals to fill the following positions:
**AVAILABLE POSITIONS: 1. Aggregate Tester and Scale Person** - For immediate hire.

**Location**: Aggregate Source near Moose Jaw
**Reports to**: Quality Control Manager

This role includes two key responsibilities:

- **Scaling trucks and managing material quantities**:

- **Performing aggregate testing on newly produced gravel products**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accurately weigh and scale trucks using certified equipment
- Collect aggregate samples in accordance with ASTM/CSA standards
- Perform gradation (sieve), moisture content, and other standard aggregate quality tests
- Record and report test results to QC Supervisor or Project Engineer
- Maintain and calibrate field testing equipment
- Complete all documentation including test reports, scale tickets, and daily logs
- Participate in daily FLRAs and hazard assessments
- Follow all site safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with other general duties as needed

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma (post-secondary in civil tech, geology, or construction is an asset)
- Experience in materials testing, sampling, or scaling is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

**2. Groundsman / Labourer / Operator**

**Location**: 15 Wing CFB Moose Jaw
**Reports to**: Site Foreman

This is an **active, hands-on role** supporting paving and base construction activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate equipment such as broom, skid steer, water truck, roller, tamper
- Set up cones and barricades to control work zones
- Assist in layout, preparation, and cleanup of work areas
- Finish and compact base materials, perform hand work around structures
- Operate hand tools: shovels, rakes, leaf blowers
- Perform daily equipment checks (fueling, greasing, inspections)
- Work closely with foremen and equipment operators to maintain production flow
- Participate in daily FLRAs and hazard assessments
- Support general crew tasks as directed

**Note**:
Entry to 15 WING **requires background checks and fingerprinting** through the Commissionaires. Processing time for site access is typically 2-3 weeks. Hiring is **dependent on successful clearance**.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (ALL POSITIONS)**:

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Solid understanding of workplace safety and manual handling procedures
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a **Fit for Duty test** (including **marijuana testing**)
- Able to work 10-14 hour shifts on a 10 days on / 4 days off schedule

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- **Wage**: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
- **Additional Pay**: Overtime pay after 40 hours/week
- **Schedule**: Typically 10/4 shift, 12-hour days
- **LOA**: Provided for meals
- **All long weekends off**
