CLEARVIEW is currently seeking an experienced
**Development Manager** to oversee the day-to-day operation of a team of Development team members, comprised of internal and offshore resources. The Development Manager also plays a key role in ensuring that their department is meeting/exceeding expectations and achieving successful completion of goals and objectives, measured by the team’s quality, efficiency, growth and development, and maintaining team trust and respect.
**What will your day look like?**
- Duties and tasks include, but are not limited to:
**Team Administration**
- Managing team schedules and absences, resource allocations
- Participating in recruitment of new team members
- Providing progress and status reports as needed to the Sr. Director of Product Engineering & Development, and other stakeholders when applicable
**Supporting, Inspiring and Motivating Team**
- Encouraging and supporting skill building and personal development within the team
- Providing effective feedback to team members as needed
- Understanding each team member’s strengths, weaknesses and personality
- Maintaining the general happiness and engagement of the team through team building activities
**Driving Improved Performance**
- Capitalizing on team strengths to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively and successfully fulfill objectives
- Coordinating with the Sr. Director of Development and other Development Managers for strategic departmental planning
- Coaching and mentoring team members to creating an environment focused on continual improvement and innovation for self/team/system
- Acting as an expert resource when assistance is required for complex development tasks
**Qualifications**
- You should be:
- An experienced leader, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing direct reports; experience managing remote team members is an asset
- Quality-focused, ensuring that what we do, we do well
- Efficient, driven to find ways of exceeding targets without sacrificing quality
- Consistent in finding what works and sticking with it
- As transparent and open with your team as possible
- Accountable for your actions and the actions of your team (which means holding them accountable for their actions as well)
- Passionate about development and leading your team toward success and growth
- Professional in all interactions with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
And have:
- Hands-on experience working as a Developer with the Microsoft technology stack
- Extensive experience and understanding of:
- Source control, especially Git, with strong knowledge of branching and merging strategies and effective use of these tools and techniques in a complex multi-developer environment
- .NET, especially C# but also including VB.NET development
- Principles of RESTful API development
- SQL Server stored procedure development
- ASP.NET website development
- Additional technical experience to be considered an asset:
- Azure DevOps (with Git) source control
- .NET unit testing
- Azure services development (not VMs)
- Azure serverless technologies (Function Apps, Logic Apps, Azure SQL)
- High performance asynchronous messaging solutions leveraging the Azure messaging platform (Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hub, Azure Storage)
- Coding for high-volume or high-frequency data sets
- Demonstrated leadership capability, doing what’s right even when it is tough
- A collaborative team approach, giving opportunities for everyone to contribute
- The ability to build and maintain trust with your team, management, and colleagues
- Good critical thinking skills, to make data-driven decisions even when under pressure
**Other requirements**:
- Flexibility of working hours will be required based on business and departmental needs, including holidays, evenings and weekends
- Occasional travel may be required
- Minimal physical demands, with most time spent sitting/standing in an office environment; manual dexterity required for computer usage
- Significant visual and mental concentration
