**Job Title: 3 Ton / 5 Ton Driver**

**Division: Vehicle Operators**

You will operate heavier trucks to transport goods and materials over urban, interurban and provincial routes. You will maintain in good standings a proper valid licence and any endorsements required by law. You will work under a dispatcher, but your supervisor will be the Operations Manager.

**Main Duties**:
As a 3 Ton / 5 Ton Driver you will perform some or all of these duties:

- Operate and drive straight trucks, weighting over 4600 kg, to transport goods and materials to various destinations.
- Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading and safety and security of cargo.
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes and cargo area.
- Perform roadside load securement checks when required.
- Record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption and other information in log book or daily manifest as required.
- Communicate with dispatch and other drivers using two-way radio.
- May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
- Maintain a high level of integrity while dealing with customers/ vendors and while driving company vehicles.
- Abide by all company policies and safety regulations.
- You will maintain the highest level of housekeeping of your assigned unit and storage area.

**Employment Requirements**:

- On-the-job training will be provided.
- A valid class 5 driver’s licence is required as well as any other requirements by law.
- Air brake endorsement (Q) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
- One year of safe driving experience is required.
- Eligibility for bonding.
- You will undergo some informal on-the-job training.
- Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certifications are required for all drivers. Training is provided.
- Do you have the following licence or certification: 3Q or 5Q?
- Do you speak English?
