**Contract**: Full-time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

**Location**: Remote/work from home, Canada based

**Salary**: $68,000 - $72,000 CAD per year with excellent benefits

Join WaterAid Canada as **Manager, Water Governance and Resilience** to advance WASH advocacy and governance, ensuring sustainable and climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

**About the Role**

The **Manager, Water Governance and Resilience** includes, but is not limited to:
**1. Policy research and analysis including**:

- Policy analysis on water, sanitation and hygiene in Canada’s foreign policy including gender responsive climate finance for adaptation, mitigation, and loss and damage, in addition to biodiversity investment.
- Support extensive engagement with civil society coalition partners to advance and grow WAC’s ecosystem for progressing our WASH and climate agenda in policies across sectors including food security, biodiversity, health, and gender equality.

**2. Engaging stakeholders in Canada and globally**
- In collaboration with the Head of Policy and Advocacy, promote WaterAid’s strategic goals, approaches, and values with civil society networks and strategic partners, highlighting the centrality of WASH in a wide range of contexts and sectors, focusing on climate change and the environment.
- Explore new advocacy opportunities through expanded stakeholder engagement across private sector, youth and other networks.

**3. Thought leadership for water security, water governance and climate finance**
- Participate in knowledge exchange with fellow WaterAid staff in Canada and globally as part of internal working groups and communities of practice.

**Requirements**:
To be successful, you’ll need:

- A postgraduate degree in environmental studies, climate change, or water governance.
- 5+ years’ experience in international assistance, policy analysis, and advocacy.
- Proven ability to engage with civil society, government agencies, and donors.
- Strong expertise in WASH, climate finance, and governance.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in policy brief development.
- Willingness and ability to travel in Canada and internationally, sometimes in difficult environments (when travel is permitted).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to write high quality briefing notes, policy briefs, and influencing plans in English.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working in low
- and middle-income countries.
- Proficiency in French or other WaterAid working languages.
- Knowledge of Canada’s reconciliation policies and Indigenous water rights.
- Fundraising and grant proposal development experience is an asset.
- Experience within a global federation and Canadian civil society a strong asset
