**Summary**
This position will operate in the newly set-up The Redwood Women In Trades and Technology (WITT) program to lead our technology programming. The goal of the program is to foster labour market connection to women, Two-Spirit and gender non-binary folks facing barriers to employment in the trades and technology sector. The program is a full circle program providing training in the HVAC, Construction Craft Metal and Technology profession, supportive employment opportunities, case management and wraparound supports that will help women and non-binary folks build stable and economically independent lives free from abuse, homelessness, and poverty. The Caseworker and Digital Technology Facilitator will be responsible for recruitment, wrap around supports and case management for participants interested in entering the trades and technology sectors, and facilitating digital literacy and computer skills workshops to all participants in our Women in Technology and Trades program. The Facilitator will be responsible for lesson planning, materials preparation and classroom delivery of the program and will be expected to keep up with changes in the field of technology and the skilled trades, to integrate new initiatives into programming.
This is a full-time contract position for up to one year, with possibility of extension.
**WITT Program Development**
- Develop business relations with small to mid-sized companies to engage them as potential employers of the Redwood graduates of WITT.
- Develop and implement strategies to secure employment in the trades and technology industries for individuals recruited into The Redwood WITT
- Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects in WITT program.
- Conduct outreach to survivors of abuse and those that have had or has any relationship with gender-based violence as beneficiaries of the WITT program
- Coordinates and case-manage the trainings, employment, and wrap-around supports for participants
- Develops and ensures all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Develops an innovative technology curriculum using adult education principles to support women and folks affected by gender-based violence to learn technology skills.
- Facilitates participatory workshops and training sessions on relevant computer literacy and digital technology programming that will support clients to develop employment-ready digital literacy skills.
- Provide feedback to supervisor on industry trends, challenges, and emerging issues.
- Prepare relevant reports on programs to donors.
- Participate in educational opportunities as needed to refresh, update, and enhance skills and knowledge that pertain to job responsibilities, company operations, customer interests, and industry outlook. This may include workshops, webinars, learning sessions, reading materials, classroom study, etc.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and collect data, complete evaluation and reporting.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Perform all duties relevant to program deliverables
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested and required.
- Liaise and work closely with community partner agencies in the Trades, Technology and Employment sector, and women-serving agencies, and particularly maintain relationships with trade Unions and technology companies, etc.
- Develops new curriculum and coordinates the expansion of the WITT program stream into the first and second year.
**Community Support & Case Management**
- Teach digital literacy skills and workshops to clients, including, but not limited to navigating the computer screen, Zoom, Google G Suites, and Intro to Tech Careers workshops, among others.
- Identify and develop strategic relationships and partnerships within the broader community to advance understanding on topics such as healthy relationships, assertive communication, boundary setting, goal setting, confidence/self-esteem, financial empowerment, and self-care/stress management, among others
- Design, organize and facilitate workshops and group sessions on various topics to address the challenges/needs of women and youth and keeping with the program plan and their employment goals.
- Provides wrap around support and case management to participants in the program to support them with priorities and needs outside of their training and employment (e.g. referrals to housing, community services, etc.)
- Designs and facilitates technology focused workshops for participants of WITT to learn about computer and digital literacy, relevant computer programs that support individuals to be employment ready (Google Suites, Zoom, etc.) using adult education principles.
