**Film Files Cataloguing Co-op Student**

Reporting to the Collections and Services Manager, the student will assist with rehousing, numbering, assessing condition, and cataloguing a Special Collections acquisition. The material will consist mainly of textual records, printed materials and video from the Julian Roffman Collection.

Julian Roffman (1919-2000) was a Canadian film producer most well known for his work on b-movies and horror films. He is most well known for two low budget horror films, The Bloody Brood (1959) and The Eyes of Hell/ The Mask (1961). The collection relates to Roffman’s decades long career as a film producer including lesser known later works.

This is an
**unpaid**, educational opportunity- Is a current student studying library sciences, museum studies, or archival sciences- Is completing a work experience course credit or Co-op- Experience handling and cataloguing archival materials- Experience implementing cataloguing standards, classification systems and controlled vocabularies- Fluent in Microsoft Excel- Exceptional attention to detail- Demonstrated ability to conduct research- Ability to follow instructions and receive feedback- Interest in / knowledge of cinema is considered an asset

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Responsible for safely handling archival materials and rehousing in appropriate archival enclosures.- Required to follow RAD and internal cataloguing standards when entering information in excel docs for upload to database.- Responsible for accurately recording accession numbers on objects and in catalogue records, and tracking object locations.- Responsible for search of online and internal databases for film titles, dates, and relevant people and places.

**CONTRACT DATES**:
- Contract runs from January to April. (exact schedule to be negotiated with student based on Programme requirements)- Working a maximum of 20 hours per week.- Must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.- This role requires being in office on a regular basis
