**Posting Description**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the **Machine Tool Builder** is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining custom machine tools used in automated manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure that machine tools are built to exact specifications and are ready for efficient, high-performance operation. Following completion of machines at our facility, you may be required to travel to customer facilities to support commissioning.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build, assemble, and test complex machine tools, jigs, and fixtures used in automation processes
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to build custom machines
- Assemble mechanical components, electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems as per design requirements
- Manufacture simple machined or fabricated parts, or make modifications thereof, to complete machine and ensure it performs as intended
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to troubleshoot and resolve any assembly or design issues
- Install, calibrate, and test new machine tools to ensure optimal functionality and performance
- Perform quality control checks on completed builds, ensuring that all machines meet required specifications and safety standards
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on existing machine tools to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency
- Provide technical support to operators and maintenance teams for troubleshooting and machine setup
- Document machine builds, modifications, and maintenance activities for future reference and compliance purposes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma and skilled trades certificate (machinist, machine tool builder-integrator, millwright, or related)
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in machine tool building, automation, or a related field
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for machine assembly
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and techniques (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with CNC machines, robotics, or automated production systems
- Familiarity with machine control systems, PLCs, and other automation technologies
- Experience with machine tool calibration and commissioning
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Technical diploma or degree in robotics, mechatronics, or mechanical design

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:
