**River East Collegiate/Chief Peguis Transit Point**

**Casual position - 1.5 hours per day**

**7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.**

**Effective ASAP - June 28/24**

**Job Summary**:
RETSD has an immediate opening for two Bus Transit Point Supervisors. Responsible for supervising school children at the River East Collegiate/Chief Peguis bus transit point.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure student safety by monitoring them and providing appropriate guidance at the transit point.
- Direct students around the bus loop/transit point.
- Understand the traffic laws, signs and speed limits posted within a designated jurisdiction to effectively guide people.
- Communicate rules, regulations, and processes to students and ensure their understanding for optimal safety.
- Maintain an area that is free of hazards, and employ the appropriate tools and equipment, including high visibility vests.
- Report the unsafe behavior of students to school officials and/or the transportation department to reduce the risk of someone getting hurt at the transit point.
- Supervisors will wear high visible clothing that may include a brightly colored vest or raincoat.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Qualifications_
- Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
- External applicants must supply a Criminal Record search and a cleared Child Abuse Registry Check upon hire.
- Skills and abilities_
- Understanding of working with a high volume of youth in a high traffic area
- Understanding of road signs and regulations
