**JOB TITLE**: Coordinator, Peer Support & Volunteer Programs (Internal/External)

**REPORTS TO**: Director, Community Projects

**CLASSIFICATION**: Union position (Grid 38)

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Coordinator, Peer Support & Volunteer works and shares their knowledge of mental ill-health/substance use to support the delivery of Peer Support & Volunteer Programming with Progressive Housing Society. The Coordinator will assist with planning, development, evaluation, quality improvement, and research initiatives related to the delivery of Peer Support and Volunteer Services. This position provides peer-based mentoring, leadership skills development and support to Peer Support Workers and Volunteers across PHS to increase the effectiveness and fidelity in peer & volunteer led programming. The Coordinator will establish dignifying and purposeful relationships with Peer Support Workers & Volunteers across PHS in many ways, such as through courageous leadership, by getting to know them as unique individuals, and helping coordinate and support a sharing of information across PHS. Knowledge of peer-run programs and understanding of the value of peer/client involvement is essential. The Coordinator will have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and to recognize and respond appropriately to the needs of peers and consumers.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Sciences with an emphasis or demonstrated history of coordinating, planning, and administering peer support and/or volunteer programs
- Minimum 2 years recent related work experience within mental health, substance use and homelessness OR - An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relevant to the level of work.
- Successful clearance of a criminal record check and a Vulnerable Sector Check
- A valid BC driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for business related purposes.
- Standard First Aid & CPR.
- Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Training
- Naloxone Training
- Trauma Informed Practice

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $28.56 per hour
